HERE COMES THE AKOGUN SHABBA AND YEYE AKOGUN OF IFE – OLUKOTUN KINGDOM!

The new Akogun Shabba, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, former Managing Director, Daily Trust Ltd has now been confirmed and sworn – in at a colorful and peaceful ceremony held at ife -olukotun, in Yagba East local government area of Kogi State today.
The event which attracted a very large crowd from within and outside kogi state was done under the watchful eyes of his Royal Highness Oba Shaibu Ayegbajeje Muhammed,The Olukotun of Ife -Okukotun kingdom who was ably assisted by the king makers.
The occasion was described as one of the few events that drew many people from all part of the country to the ancient Ife -Olukotun town.
The ceremony started in earnest at about 10.00am today, 3rd October 2020, with the Royal Highness putting a red cap on the head of the new Akogun shabba and was followed by the proper confirmation which was carried out by the king makers.
The wearing of the Royal cap automatically now makes Alhaji isiaq Ajibola, a very senior member, the second in command and one of the top adviser very close to the Royal Highness on all issues.
A large number of traditional rulers and top ranking officers from both private and public institutions attended the ceremony which included a substantial number of the political leadership from kogi state, nation and it’s bureaucracy.
The president of South East districts (SEYDA) His Excellency, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye and his wife, The secretary to kogi state government Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, House of Representative member represented, The house of Assembly member Alhaji Musa Jimoh omiata,The president of Ife -Olukotun Descendant Union (IDU) Alhaji Idris Musa. DG. NOSDRAL, the chairperson South East Yagba women wing Deaconess Chief Mrs Ebun Joel and all Royal Fathers across the districts and other dignitaries were present.
Indeed the events that marked the ceremony held at the three venues witnessed a large turn – out of crowd.
After the turbaning ceremony, the new Akogun Shabba of Ife – Olukotun drove on a white Toyota Jeep from the palace of Olukotun of Ife -Olukoun amidst drumming and cheering from his large crowd of supporters, friends and admires who happily trudged along with him to the reception venue.
The High Chief Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola had earlier in the day paid a solidarity visit and exchanged greetings with the Royal highness at the palace inner chamber before the actual turbaning ceremony began.
In his speech at the occasion the president of South East districts Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye urged the new Akogun shabba to continue to work hard towards improving the condition of the people in the entire community and the whole area in the same manner he had been doing before his new appointment. He described him as a God fearing and a capable leader of the people.
The president Ife-Olukotun Descendant Union Alhaji Idris Musa thanked all the royal fathers and other dignitaries. He described the high chief Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola as a very hard working, committed, extremely knowledgeable and a natural leader. He therefore, prayed for the development of the land.
Responding, High chief Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola pledged to continue to work hard and pledge to render necessary assistance to the community towards it’s rapid development.
He promised to justify the confidence reposed on him by the Royal fathers and the good people of Ife -Olukotun.
Many people believed that by his new position as the Akogun shabba, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola is now the highest ranking traditional tittle holders in the area which now places him very close to the Royal highness. The Olukotun of Ife – Olukotun.
Alhaji (Chief) Isiaq Ajibola who is a prince of Ife – Olukotun kingdom, the former MD Daily Trust Nig.Ltd, and Chairman committee on Ethic, culture, students, youth and sports, South East Yagba Developments Association (SEYDA).
Through a dint of hard work, loyalty, dedication to duty, trustworthiness and determination, he excelled in whatever assignment that was given to him.
In all the positions of responsibility he had held since in the early 80s to date, it is on record that High Chief Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola proved himself a worthy leader.
