The Secretary to the State Government Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade has sent her heartfelt felicitation to professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi on his well deserved appointment as the vice chancellor of Federal University Lokoja by the governing council of the University.

The Secretary to the State Government said the appointment is obviously based on merit and deserving owing to the stellar academic record of Prof Akinwunmi, whose service as an outstanding scholar and excellent researcher in various institutions he served for years remain impeccable and remarkable. He’s an historian per excellence whose records of achievement in the academia is inspiring.

Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade commended the Governing council for it diligent and painstaking process that lead to the most sublime choice of Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi, a renowned Historian.

In her words, ” Your signpost of professionalism and unblemished character as an illustrious son of okun land and as an accomplished scholar towers you above the rest, hence, see your appointment as an opportunity to render greater service to your fatherland”.

She said professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi is one of the shining light of not only okun land, but the entire state. He has made the state proud with his progressive strides as an academia, right from his Unilorin days to becoming DVC Academic in Nasarawa State University to the eminent position he has attained as the VC of Federal University, Lokoja. To God alone be all the Glory.

Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade prayed that God in his infinite mercy will grant him wisdom, knowledge, understanding and sound health to make a super difference and engendered uncommon transformation in the citadel of learning.
