Nigeria Players Abroad: Osimhen Fires Blank As Ighalo Misses Out Again In United’s Loss
It was a beautiful Sunday across Europe for Nigerian players. From England down to Spain, Italy, France, Germany and across Europe there were football actions and Nigeria players were not left behind.

It was not the best of afternoon for Carlo Ancelotti’s lad as they stumbled to another Premier League defeat this time at the Saint James’ Pack against Newcastle United. Nigerian winger Alex Iwobi was a second half substitute in the game which ended 2-1.

In Italy, Victor Osimhen fires blank again as Napoli lost at home by to goal to Sassuolo. Victor Osimhen who played for the entire duration could not beat Sassuolo’s goal keeper Andrea Consigli. Also in the Italian league, Nigerian Stefano Okaka was on the pitch for 71 minutes for Udinese in their 1-2 home loss to AC Milan.
In Spain Ramon Azeez wasn’t part of Granada’s 1-1 draw against Levante due to injury.
In Germany, Nigerian eligible Jordan Torunarigha misses out of Hertha Berlin game against Wolfsburg due to injury. The game ended 1-1
Nigerian eligible Deji Sotona was not listed for OGC Nice 3-0 away win at Angers as Terem Moffi fires blank in Lorient goaless draw against Dijon. Henry Onyekuru was left on the bench for the entire duration in Monaco’s 4 nil win over Bordeaux, Josh Maja was also an unused sub for Bordeaux in the match. Samuel Kalu was out of the game due injury.
Maduka Okoye conceded 4 goals as Sparta Rotterdam fell 4-1 at home to SC Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie. Emanuel Emegha’s introduction in the 30th minutes wasn’t enough to strengthen Rotterdam’s attack for a fight back. Nigerian Hamdi Akujobi was an unused sub for Heerenveen in the win.
