The Center for Democracy and Development (CDD) identified Nigeria’s problems from the leadership.

This statement was a commemoration of Nigeria’s Independence anniversary; the statement reads that citizens have hobbled the realization of the nation’s loft potential despite the levels of challenges in Nigeria.

It also noted that Nigeria’s dream is possible, only if we could work hard, notwithstanding the problems.

CDD organization expresses optimism that Nigeria’s diversity can be built on to become a source of strength, despite fears that multiethnicity is the genesis of the unending sectarian instability and conflicts.

The organization also stressed that the same problems of hunger, insecurity, malnutrition, insecurity, lack of infrastructure, maternal mortality, and human rights abuse are what every Nigerian face irrespective of its origin.

“The problem is the lack of leadership and the right framework for governance. The right leadership can harness the diversity, creativity, and boundless energies of the Nigerian population and make these attributes the basis of a strong, stable, and efficient federation.”

The energy being expanded by separatist groups to break up of the country would be better applied to uniting Nigeria and making it work for the betterment of all, CDD added.
